The color developer (CD-4 type) is white or off-white crystalline powder. Chemically known as 4-(N-ethyl-N-hydroxyethyl)-2-methylphenylenediamine sulfate. During color development, the oxidizing color developer reduces the silver atoms in the silver halide crystals, and then combines with the color coupler to form color dye molecules.
